He is better called Willy Wonka and also known for his collaborations using writer, producer, director Mel Brooks. Gene Wilder processed several film by having Brooks starting using The Producers in 1968. He was nominated for an Academy Award for best supporting actor for his role in The Producers. Biography
Innate around Milwaukee, a boy of Russian Jewish immigrants, Wilder studied drama at a University of Iowa and later tended to Britain's Bristol Old Vic Theatre School. He served in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958.

Tim Burton's reply was that a 1971 version was "sappy" & that he "rate[s] [the musical] Chitty Chitty Bang Bang higher."
